Shudder at the thought! Whenever a well-read Bible-believing Christian reads those words… “Consider it pure joy,” they know exactly where it came from and where the rest of it’s headed. It is, of course, the initial charge from that ‘right strawy epistle’ (Luther’s words, not mine) of James. Most people will find it absurd to connect joy with trials. Yet James’s letter shows us how.

What defines “you?” What are those ideals or values most important in your life? Are they things such as honesty, loyalty and/or respect for others? We know not to lie, steal or cheat, but what other values do we honor? Eight concepts define our ethical and spiritual beliefs: Compassion, Unity, Truthfulness, Fairness, Tolerance, Respect, and Service.

The sentiment in the chorus of Toto’s “Hold the Line” (1978) is so rich to real life it chills us, yet we hardly ever reflect upon it. It’s a song about faith and waiting for the promised blessing.

There are many doors in our minds and we’re continually opening and closing them. The same is to be said if you live from of standpoint of opening yourself to all positive possibilities, you will receive back the same.

We, it seems, have traveled this journey of hesitant, stumbling life for a reason. Almost every religious person, whom I met, during my travels and journeys, believes that they are right about their religious beliefs. This doesn’t make much sense, if you think about. If you’re right, then the other people are wrong. So let me try to paint you a picture of something that most people rarely contemplate.

Does this sound like the religious text that your religious organization follows? If it does, I’m here to suggest to you, “That you must do what God tells you to do.” Think about this for a moment, if your religious text or instruction booklet, tells you to do something, and you don’t, how good of a religious follower would your God consider you to be?

Yes, You read it right, “Christian DO-DO.” If you Don’t-do it you may wind-up in real, DO-DO.
