In the midst of struggles, why do we continue to wallow in the dark like a pigs stuck in the mud? Do we feel better in those sticky, dark places?

It’s a fairly simple question to ask, “Are you happy?” So, when my wife asked it of me I snarled, “Yeah, I’m happy”… but inside I started to really wonder, as she replied, “You don’t seem happy”

WE CAN SEE anything we want to see. But is it the truth – an observable, verifiable truth, as others (and God) might see it? This is a test of our ability to overcome the propensity of our broken humanity – the partiality driven of emotion – the reactiveness of instinctive unchecked thought – and of many other representations of that same thing. Perspective is the outcome of genuineness.

This article recounts my recent experience with the paradigm shift. It was an amazing experience that I hope I never have to go through again.

This is where the “Hallelujah Chorus” comes from in “The Messiah”. How many know that that great piece of music has this awesome reference to the day when God judges the world and when sin is judged and when businesses and commerce collapse and crumble? We are able to have a preview, and look at the judgment of the world from God’s viewpoint, and we are taken behind the scenes, and we see who is in control, and we see what is going to happen, and rejoice. It is complete and final. There is a sense of stillness and silence. There is no more bartering and trading. There is no more leisure. In a day when there are more and more festivals and musical weekends this judgment deals with art and industry and even domestic activity. Yes, there is a finality about it all. It is as if Babylon had never been! God is not going to restore the old economic prosperity, but He wishes to restore our character, and there is a call going out to become holy.
