PRAYERFUL LIFE. There really is no substitute. There are praises to God when life is well. There are pleas to God when things are not so well. And there is the burgeoning hope of hearing from the Lord.

TRUTH NEEDS NO DEFENCE. We make a myth of truth, however, when we degrade the ‘serious’ things we say by making an oath – like, “… , really!” or “As God is my witness!” or “Honestly,… ” or “I’m sure of it.”

There is no point to the execution of personal justice. We are better off seeing how the person who insults us reacts when we don’t react, or not respond in a way that the worldly person would respond.

Service and sacrifice is the act of giving without expecting anything in return. There are different ways of performing service.

Sometimes we are made aware, painfully at times, that the love and care we have for someone is not returned. But is it always about us? Or could they be harboring issues that have nothing to do with us?

What is it that Jesus Christ takes away and what is it Jesus Christ gives and which only Jesus Christ can give? This is so crucial and many people are unaware of the very simple answer. Forgiveness for the past, and anointing and equipping for the future, are both essential, if we are going to serve faithfully and obediently in the Kingdom of God. Daniel stood firm in what might be regarded as a small matter. Did this not enable him to stand firm, when it came to more critical and crucial challenges? Each victory will help you, another to win. What we decide in our teens can have such an influence upon us later in life, and some learn that too late.

Numerology has been used for centuries to guide us through life. It helps us understand our guides, life purpose, karmic relationships, business ventures and so much more.

The Black-marketeers who have been recently raided in large scale by the police in Bihar, are almost in all cases rich merchants, millionaires, landlords etc. These people were not needy men but they amassed money and hoarded commodities out of a passion for accumulating wealth not only for their personal enjoyment but also for their enjoyment of their future generation.

First Experience: Soft notes of music drift mildly over green pastures and they tap your heart pleadingly to open and let them in. The sensitive touches of the note struck by the player forces open the door and lets your spirit cry in spasms of joy, leap out and dance with the divine notes in god’s space. You keep aching for it more and more.

WORDS ARE DANGEROUS. What we say – the promises we make – are perilous at times. A large part of the problem is we only discover this by hindsight much of the time, or we do notice the error in our speaking at the time, but we don’t know how to rectify it. These are just two examples of the hazardous nature of communication. And, of course, we haven’t even catered for misunderstanding in the receipt of communication.

Helmut Thielicke (1908-1986) said in his expansive commentary on the Sermon On the Mount, Life Can Begin Again, “Only the person who is under Jesus Christ gains the freedom to be truthful… ” If we pique our awareness to such a degree as to glaze each word that comes from our lips in truth we have some sense of imperfect mastery over what we say and how we say it.
