What The Bible Teaches About Humility“True Bible Humility is not the degradation of self, but rather, the recognition and acknowledgment of the greatness of God, our need for Him, and our need for each other.” Many people have varied views concerning this most vital spiritual force. Some people do not even consider its power and effect upon those who submit themselves to it. But humility is valuable because it attracts more and more of the favor, power and blessings of Almighty God. Sometimes the best way to determine what something is, is to discover what it is not. This is definitely true concerning Bible humility. People have believed that to be humble means to be in poverty. Others assumed that to be humble means to lack ambition, and just live without the finer things of life. However, according to the Bible, that cannot be true. Abraham was a humble man, who actually attained the status of being God’s friend. Yet he was rich. So was King David, Solomon, and others. So humility could not be poverty.
What can a puppy do for you? Teach. At the heart of every trial, every emotional upheaval, every tribulation faith sits facing personal weaknesses. Words and actions and reactions whirl around like a violent tornado undaunted by human attempts for solutions. But God, the creator, can still the storm with a simple “peace, be still.” Through a series of almost humorous but very stressful trials, this summer our new puppy changed my perspective on the importance of work and family.

It’s winter here in WV. While I like winter way more than I like the summer (I hate being hot, like, a lot), it’s still not a favorite. It would be one thing if we got a lot of snow. Then I could sit here and write about the redemptive something or other about snow and how it covers sins and is all white and beautiful. It would be poetic and eloquent and you would weep. I’m getting misty just thinking about it.
