Usage of Yantra is common in Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. However, in Hinduism, Yantra forms an important part of puja ceremonies. If you go through the tantric scriptures of Hinduism you will see that Yantra assume an important place where it acts as the source of divine energy. These Yantra have specific geometrical shapes, symbols and Bij mantras on it. Mostly, specific metals (such as copper, bronze, Panch Dhaatu and Ashtadhatu), woods, crystals and Bhojpatras are used in two dimensional or three dimensional forms to create these yantras.
