Recently while meditating I was frustrated at not being able to really connect with my spirit guide, or anyone else for that matter. Using a pendulum I asked my guide Melech to help me by coming to me in my dream last night. I had wanted some kind of guidance on how to let go of whatever it is that is blocking me or at least some idea of what I am doing wrong.

I have found this to mirror my own spiritual life where the stones are various obstacles of resistance. At times I prefer to ignore what seem like overwhelming boulders. This usually results in chaotic avoidance patterns and is an enormous drain on my energy. Sometimes I just am not ready to let go of the boulder and face the hole that the removal would leave.

When life gives you more than you can handle be open to accept help in whatever form it may come. Never close your mind to the limitless possibilities of “Divine Intervention”. Everyone is psychic, you just have to listen.

I watched part of the closing ceremony last night for the 2008 Summer Olympics that took place in Beijing. I was completely blown away by the beauty and grace of what I beheld. That imagery was encapsulated in a moment for me that I will hold on to forever.

My wife and I just returned from New York. We love to travel and we even have many opportunities to travel with our work. This was a business trip that caused me to miss two days of posting and, at the same time, gave me inspiration to live out my blog. I love the way things can become synchronized for us when we sincerely seek out the good in this wonderful life we get to live.

Just as we are finishing the cleanup and drying out from the recent visit of Tropical Storm Fay, here comes her big, bad cousin Gustav. There seems to be no loss of stormy activity lately, both naturally and supernaturally. The latter reference is my topic for today. It will be quite easy to measure the damage left in Gustav’s wake, but the utter chaos that so many self-righteous pastors are inflicting on the lives of so many of my friends of late is beyond description. As a matter of fact, the total damage for some of my friends may never be completely known.

I love to drive. I have some of my most creative moments while passing the time behind the steering wheel. Today, I made a trip to Tuscaloosa to deliver some things to my son who is going to school there. It has been unseasonably cool for August and when you live in Alabama, that news puts a little spring in your step. So, I spent most of my alone time on this trip thinking about how thankful I am and how I wish the “church” wasn’t so divided.
