The Three E’s of a Healthy Relationship

Meditative prayer can be a set of affirmations that guide one’s thinking to a positive place. It can be walking across a bridge imagining the space beneath it which meets the river below flowing with the rapids as nature inspiring hope and renewal.

Seven trumpets are to be sounded in the book of Revelation indicating what was going to happen not only globally but cosmically. These first four trumpets in Revelation Chapter 8 could almost be described as going together or being sounded together and then we have two and then we have a pause. The first four echo the plagues of Exodus which were visited upon Egypt. Moses exercised such strong powerful leadership as he prepared to lead over two million people out of slavery and bondage into freedom and towards the Promised Land, and that period was not without its own unique challenges and difficulties. That is when you do really need a strong powerful leader. Pharaoh at that time was regarded as divine and Pharaoh pitted himself against God and lost.

You are like God. Maybe you now have a question, “How am I like God?” In Genesis 1:26 the Bible says, “And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.”

The forgiveness of the guilt of our sin is quite straightforward. We are the ones who complicate it, by hiding the truth from God; or from others who can facilitate our forgiveness.

A comment was made recently to a fellow pastor and preacher, and it was “What you say scares me”, to which his reply was “I think you need to be scared”. Some people do. Some people need a good shaking before it is too late. Do make time to read the book of Revelation and seek to understand as much of its significant teaching as you can, because many see things breaking out across the troubled and pained world, where suffering and deprivation are unquestionably increasing! Many years ago, I used to have to look for fresh subjects and topics to pray about, and note them down, in order to use them in our Morning and Evening Services in Scotland, but we do not need to do that today. Do not dismiss Revelation as nothing more than fantasy and sheer imagery. It is more real and realistic than some would wish it to be!

When the first trumpet is sounded we see the earth being scorched. The world ecology is dramatically disturbed. That type of information we hear weekly on our news bulletins and in sane sensible scientifically based magazines and newspapers and it is the topic of various lectures. Is there not a correlation? Do make time and take the effort to understand what Almighty God is revealing in these pictures and visions given to this experienced leader, the apostle John. We are so dependent upon the plant world around us. Men and plants are created by God, to live together but we live in a fallen world. We read here of the balance being upset as these judgments are released upon the face of the earth, and we read of ecological disaster on a scale never experienced by man since the time of the Flood.

You and I are ALWAYS praying-whether you believe in God or not. This universal system operates without ceasing and we are a highly interactive and deeply integrated part of this system. The world around us is the sum total of humanities thoughts impressed upon it. The world around YOU is the sum total of YOUR thoughts impressed upon it-your continuing and emotionally dominating, habitual thoughts. Just because a thought doesn’t stir emotion the first time you’re aware of thinking it, doesn’t mean it lacks power. Its energetic DNA is packed with punch!! Keep thinking it… you’ll see.

Do you believe in God. Are you sure you know what God is? If human beings are capable of creating cities, societies, businesses, religions and so much more, then is it so hard to imagine the Creator of All-That-Is? Consciousness of the self and the ability to create lives in all life forms, and perhaps, in all that is.

Two ways the devil works to convict our souls to his lies is by fear and discouragement. We may even find that one of us is more prone to fear, whilst the other is susceptible to be discouraged. Our challenge is to see the attack for what it is, being simply aware of it. It’s easy to obey God when we know what to do. When we flee the devil – by trusting and obeying God in our patient and calm responses – the devil flees us, too.

Studying the Scriptures of the New Testament can be so exciting and thrilling and rewarding and I am slowly but carefully and prayerfully making my way through these pages in the book of Revelation and in Chapter 6 we read that there is concern in heaven. This is prayer in heaven, and heavenly prayers by their very nature are sinless prayers. This is a prayer that the God of Justice will show this world to be based on Justice. There can be no human sin intermingling with prayerful words here. This prayer is pure and holy and just. These saints are asking God the God of Justice to do what is right! The astonishing answer is – rest awhile and wait a little longer. Do not press for the end of all things just yet. There are more martyrs coming to join you!

The book of Revelation is written by a fisherman, or at least by a man who was a fisherman, with a good fisherman’s business by the Lake of Galilee, but for sixty years he has been a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ, and now the apostle John has been taken up into the heaven, into the control room and command room of the universe, and he is shown what events and incidents would take place and will one day take place around out world. Some are seriously wondering if some of these visions are not presently coming to pass as man faces all kinds of suffering and disaster, and with Israel back in her own land that put a fresh perspective onto every aspect of what is happening and also on what has gone before. This is why true genuine spirituality where we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and saturated with the love of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is so vitally important.
