Knowing The Holy Spirit! “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.” ACTS 1:8 Thousands of evangelists from more than 130 countries have attended the International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists, sponsored by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. One year, I was asked to speak on how to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Just before I was to speak, I received a note from Billy Graham that read, “I consider this one of the most important addresses of the entire conference.”

Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
ROMANS 6:11 My friend Randy had given up trying to live the Christian life. He said, “I have tried, but have failed so many times. Nothing seems to work for me.” After listening to his account of his many failures and defeats, I began to explain the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Randy interrupted: “I know all about the Holy Spirit. I’ve read everything I can find, and nothing works for me.” My thoughts turned to Romans 6. I asked him, “Randy, are you sure you’re a Christian?” “Yes,” he answered. “I’m sure.” “How do you know?”

Often we are addressed with reminders, assertions, and at times even pleas, that we are “all one”. We are all human. We are all the same at some level. We all bleed red. At the sub-atomic level, we are all made up of the same stuff. Or are we?

These series of articles have a slight “business” leaning, but its greater purpose is to give a better understanding of the enormous plan God has for you and your life. Business, and being “successful” seem to always ring a beautiful chord in most of our ears. I hope to address some of the main areas in our lives that must be addressed in order to be “successful” in business, but I venture to say that by the end it will not be so much the business that is important, but the peace and empowerment that comes from living a life that is righteous in God’s eyes.

An angel can be your best friend. Angels have been known respond to prayers that contain the phrase “Hey, somebody, anybody up there HELP!!!” but they come quickest when addressed politely by their Christian names.

Everyday we make thousands of judgments about people, places, situations and events. Judgment can protect us and keep us from making mistakes but judgment can also prevent us from seeing clearly. So how do we know the difference?
