A Pre-Positional World
From your location, you have created for yourself all you could and all you want. You are not restricted by the temperament of things external to you, however, these things do reveal much for you. Look at yourself as if you exist within a grid of direction, with all things formed by three axes.
Eleven years ago I made a decision to surrender my life to Christ. Since then I’ve come to understand more about God than I ever have before. From a Christian’s perspective there are a few things that I feel we must understand about God in relation to what the Bible says about Him.
A Zealous Christian’s Burden – What You Cannot Help But DoOne thing I noted in my recent frenzied ‘friend farming’ is the number of very passionate Christ-followers there are in the broader world. I think it entirely fair to say that Jeremiah didn’t see things anywhere near as optimistically–though he did live pre-Christ.
Better to Give Than to ReceiveHave you ever noticed that you don’t feel as good when you receive a gift as when you give one and see the joy of the person that you give the gift to? Why is it better to lend than to borrow?
The Men Are BackWithin a matter of days after penning these prophetic words, Pier Giorgio, whom Pope John Paul II called the Man of the Eight Beatitudes, died at the age of 24 from polio he contracted on one of his many visits to the poor. Verso l’alto is Italian and means Toward the Top.
Need an answer from God? Tired of waiting? The Bible says our trials will instill patience. Anyone who seeks the Lord diligently will be rewarded. Never stop praying, never stop seeking God’s face, he does hear and care and your answer will come!
Making Nigeria BetterThe whole nation of Nigeria yearns for a change in the government pattern and how things are done in the country. Obviously, there is a need for such yearning since individuals/citizens don’t seem to foresee a better Nigeria being created from what we have today. That is a fact, not the Truth.
Thoughts Shared With a Young ExplorerI have been having an ongoing discussion with a young explorer this last week. I thought I would share his questions along with my thoughts on them.
As You Pray, Move Your FeetThe Quakers had a saying “As you pray, move your feet.” Meaning don’t just make a request and expect a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Make your request to God, Allah, the universe by all means yes, but take action to make it a reality, because in essence the God can do more through you, than he can do for you.
Praying With One Eye OpenThe most rewarding things in life usually take discipline. If you hope to lose weight, you discipline your eating habits. If you hope to lead your team in scoring, you discipline yourself with a training schedule. If you hope to play the piano in Carnegie Hall, you discipline your practice time.
The Unsung HeroesNot all great have famous names. Some do their mighty works quietly, out of the limelight. I read of one such man the other day.
The New SpiritualityRecently Charles Blow of the New York Times cited some studies suggesting that people between the ages of 18 and 29 are “moving away from organized religion while simultaneously trying desperately to connect with their spirituality.” I believe this is true for vast numbers of people of all ages.
