The lunar new year 2013 marks the year of the intuitive, introspective black water snake. The snake is the sixth sign in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese animal zodiac. People born under this sign are said to be intelligent, graceful, wise. They tend to be analytical and move slowly into their decisions. They are also known for their ability to transform. To make the best of this year, it is recommended snakes move with added focus and discipline.

Though the original meaning of the word ‘Yantra’ is ‘tool’, the word has very deep meanings in Hindu mythology. The word can be understood to mean a ‘concept’ that changes the environment of the person. They help the mind to focus on a particular ideology or aim. They also make our prayers and thoughts more powerful.

Challenges to our time, resources, progress and sanity come and go through our days. Some days are especially marred. Other days we efficiently get on with our God-willed work and there is nothing but strength. The other days are forgettable, lamentable, and despicable – or, at best, plain boring. Yet God encourages us eternally with this battle charge.

We all yearn for happiness in life. We visit our church/mosque/temple in search of peace. We read our holy scriptures to achieve our goal. We do get peace in our mind, as long as we are in church or while reading/reciting holy scriptures. But soon after when we indulge in our daily activities in life, we get back our unhappiness due to anger, jealousy and ego clash. We need a personal prayer as an antidote to our negative thoughts and to curb our negative thought process. This is my prayer, it gives me solace, whenever I am upset. Thus I thought it prudent to share it with like minded persons, who are in search of happiness and peace in life.

Many quarrels arise on account of insisting on one’s opinion being accepted or on demanding the approval thereof. It cannot be solved by controlling oneself but only by understanding the whole gamut of its genesis and expression.

Sex in a tantric relationship is based on the concept of worship – and not just any kind of worship. If you watch how a traditional Hindu in India performs his acts of worship, you will understand. There are acts of purification. There are temporary periods of abstinence – from work, from food and from sex. There is single-minded devotion to the deity. There are rituals to help the worshiper to stay focused, and his or her soul is shaped from a rough stone into a beautiful diamond in the process. And through it all, great discipline and self-control are key factors.

Meditation has become part of the spiritual practice of most light workers. Usually it involves setting aside a time and a place where one can quiet themselves and totally focus on the moment, with eyes closed and particular attention focused on the breath.

Just when we think it is safe to go back into the water there is always one those shark people skulking around ready to try and bite our Spiritual legs off, or are they boa constrictors trying to swallow us whole? Either way, they’re never up to any good, that’s for sure, and always trying to trip us up with the use of what I call ‘nuisance passages’ of Holy Scripture. OK, these passages are not a nuisance, but they are turned into a nuisance by said Spiritually dead boa constrictors.

We face this truth: living in the light of God’s love, surrendered to him alone in faithful service, totally committed to those ends, we have the key to life. If nothing else is as important as that mission we will have the solidity of focused direction; a spiritual rigidity that is malleable enough to remain on course.

Each person has beliefs about themselves and the world. Most of us have adopted our beliefs from people and organizations who are now or were at one time significant to us. Our beliefs are certainly important. This article reminds us that beliefs are not so critical that they should keep us from having meaningful relationships with those people whose beliefs and ideas are different from our own.

This article delves in the controversial subject of who or what is actually in charge of the functioning of the universe. Some people believe there is a single God-like supreme being responsible for everything that takes place in physical reality. I have a slightly different theory.
