We can’t punish away children’s personalities or spank away their genetic dispositions, any more than we can change a zebra’s stripes into spots by wishing them to be different. Consider the value God puts on patience in 2 Peter: “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

Humanity is one family- all the religions are one- and the ills and evils of this world are due to traveler’s excess- putting their lower need before their higher and the need of others.

When we look at conflict in the world, it is good to be aware of the conflict behind the conflict and that is what we have revealed to us here. Do you want something to challenge your leadership, your philosophy of life and you mental abilities and capacity? Where do the troubles of the world begin? Where does all this suffering start? There are struggles between east and west, and between rich and the poor, and between morality and immorality but where is the war that is causing all this? Where is the war that is causing all this warfare and suffering upon the earth? The answer is rather shocking and surprising when you first read it because we are told that it is in heaven!

What did these people go out to meet the next morning? Did they discover a transformed kingdom and universal peace? No, they certainly did not. The kingdom of Rome and the cruel Empire of Rome had not become anything different overnight. In fact, we know it gradually became worse, and that may be part of the message to us from the exciting book of Revelation. The moment the child appears the dragon lunges. Was this not what happened to John in Acts Chapters 3 and 4 as soon as the Church of Jesus Christ was birthed? Was it not this enemy of Almighty God and the Church of Jesus Christ who raised up Saul of Tarsus, to do evil and wickedness but Almighty God had something else in mind for dear Saul! Could this same God have something else in mind for you?

When we say or sing that Jesus Christ is Lord we are standing up like a target for the enemy! The devil wants to stop those martyrs, because it is they who build up the church, as they encourage and motivate others. We need to be reminded that we wrestle not again flesh and blood, but against the spiritual powers of wickedness. We wrestle against spirits or powers or forces without bodies. The moment you get through to Almighty God, in prayer, and the moment you line up in the front line of the army of Jesus Christ, you realise you are involved in spiritual warfare. This should throw us more and more upon the grace and mercy and protection of Almighty God. Never underestimate the power and influence of your testimony to Jesus Christ and His blood and His resurrection and ascension.

It is always rewarding to go through an intelligent bunch of worldly advice. Here we see one such bunch. It is followed by a hilarious spoof of the same. Both seem to have an input for those who wish to lead a cheerful life governed by wisdom.

I’m not talking about the Badlands of South Dakota or the Utah Salt Flats. Neither am I talking about the Phoenix deserts, Mexico, or the moon’s surface. I’m wondering if you’ve ever been to a Wasteland place in your life.

Proverbs 3: 1-2 read my son, do not forget my law but let your heart keep my commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. The question should be asked, what are the commands so that we might have length of days and Peace. Well proverbs 3:5-7 tells us the commands, it read trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil.

THERE ARE TIMES when, completely powerless or at our wits end, we wonder about the certitude of life, as we grapple with a disaster that has unfolded before our eyes.
