Being strong too long weakens us. Being strong too long makes strength a burden which weakens us. Being strong too long is a folly of spiritual unsustainability.

Some people are very good at it. In fact, many are. Nations can be good at it too. This young man certainly was. Running away from God, and as far away as possible! Being dissatisfied at home, and thinking the grass was greener elsewhere, he asked father for his inheritance early, and off he went. You can hear him. “If I just get away, I will work everything out!” Jesus Christ is teaching us what happens when we run away, and become disconnected from Almighty God. It applies to individuals, and to nations.

Temptation is a reality we all have to face and it has been around and confronting mankind since the very beginning. Even Jesus Christ faced temptation and I am so grateful that Jesus never gave in and succumbed. Jesus Christ won and overcame and that is why one of the great themes of the book of Revelation is that over being an overcomer. The road to temptation is an easy road to travel down and it has slippery sections which can cause us much trouble and heart ache and pain and sorrow. We come across this in the Psalms too. Yes, King David brought the Ark to Jerusalem eventually and it had to be brought in a certain and specific way. God has laid down certain instructions and protocols. We have these in almost every area of life in these times, but when we come to spirituality and faith and prayer some people would just wish to go their own way and do their own thing.

Is this not a note and theme which has almost disappeared from spirituality in this present time? Many of our difficulties arise as disciples of Jesus arise from this simple fact. We refuse to be obedient. Orders and commands and are not given as a basis for debate and discussion but obedience. If there is no obedience there is no discipleship and it is as clear and simple and stark as that. When our gracious loving caring God commands us, we are not trapped or restrained or restricted or limited in any way. It is freedom in Christ and we receive peace from Christ and we experience the forgiveness which only Jesus Christ can give.

Is God’s Word something for 2,000 years ago, or does it apply to society here and now? Sometimes it is difficult to discern, but God’s Word is just as active today as it was before.

Your angels can help you in so many areas of your life. Are you asking for help? It is always available to you, but it is up to you whether you choose to pay attention and utilize that help; or whether you ignore it or talk yourself out your impressions.

Standing at the Hyatt I greeted each newcomer to our abundance networking club, “Living The Secret”. We usually had about 25 people each week at these Thursday night meetings.

I’ll never forget the first time I dared to question my faith in religion. I was unable to shake this confusion as to why God created us with the ability to think independently, yet demand we not use it. It was obvious to me at an early age that such a gift had a purpose, leading me to the realization that organized religions have simply shut the door on innovation.

Within the dream we are dreaming, A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is clear that we have a safety net. We seldom see it that way as we feel trapped in a world of our making with no way out. Fear and guilt overwhelm us and we look to the words of the Course to elicit feelings of safety while completely misunderstanding where to find safety. The ego uses the reminders of the Truth from the Course so that we end up quoting them to ourselves and each other in an effort to feel good, prove we’re right and ultimately safe in a world of terror. This approach is an ego tick that negates the practice of true forgiveness.

Trying to motivate, encourage and serve those individuals will be like trying to pushing water uphill, you will drown. Therefore, to save yourself some trouble and frustration focus on those that do need your brand of help. Not only will you be able to serve those individuals better, you will also save yourself a lot of frustration trying to motivate individuals who feel that you are looking down on them and judgment. Unless you always want to be in a fight with individuals who do not care for what you do, then it would serve you well to focus on bringing your message to others who can benefit from your message.
