False teachings are going around today saying that the church is to possess the earth as out inheritance with the gospel of Christ. This teaching is not scripture. The Bible does not teach that the gospel of Christ will drive out all evil of this world. It does teach that Christians are to occupy until Christ comes for us to escape the wrath of God that will be poured out upon the earth.

This should exclude him as a crackpot on crack and pot!

We know that God answers our prayers, but does he always grant our request? We read in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 where Paul pleaded with the Lord three times to remove his thorn in the flesh and God told him “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” God did answer Paul. However, He did not grant his request.

It’s not just the people in our lives that deserve attention, affection and respect everyday. Consider the things around you. Walk around your house and see how each room feels. Let it feel your warmth and appreciation.Think of the toys and gadgets that surround you!

At each moment in our daily lives, we have an unprecedented opportunity. Generations before us did not have this blessing of spiritual awareness that is available today. Humanity as a whole is awakening, and we are actively participating in this process even if we are not consciously aware of it. One of the simplest and most profound of spiritual teachings asks us to be in the present moment. This is an ancient teaching, and today has even greater meaning.

What is the soul essence of the mad iconoclast—one who is committed to relentless humanness? One who is fiercely independent and compelling to be near simply because of her creative innocence? Who are these people who “never yawn?” Who are these sacred Goddesses and gem-like men drunk on the divine madness of fearless freedom?

As Christians, we have a great responsibility with what we ask for when we Pray. When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, He only asked for one material thing in the example. He gave them. Give us each day our daily bread. What an awesome request, each day we live in danger and sometimes never know how close we come to death. But I think that this request for each day goes much deeper.

Real life is similar to a game. I call it, “The Game of Life.” We are all born into this game of life. We could call this game, “The Game of War.” Why? Because there are two sides: good and evil. The captains of our game are God and Satan.

Many of us get caught up in the tragedy of our lives. We get full of anger, hatred, resentment, pity and all of the other negative emotions because of what people or life has done to us. We then often seek for ways to comfort our pain, alcohol, drugs, food, pornography, gambling, sex, etc. We find we’re in a cycle of destruction.

In my last article, I wrote about discerning God’s Word when we sometimes quote things and do not really understand if they are true or not. One of these more infamous quotes is, “God helps those who help themselves.” If we are spiritual beings, we must be so careful as not to take things out of context. And if we are living in the natural, human state, we will often times use quotes like this and not fully understand if they are really true or not. It was brought to my attention that God does sometimes help those who help themselves. I want to look at this deeper. Yes, there are those times when He does.
