The purpose of this article is to discuss habits and what can happen, over a period of time, when we put things off or when we don’t finish the tasks we have started. At the end of this article, you shall discover a potentially life changing secret, that is not a secret at all.

This article shows that anyone, leader or not, can grow personally, improve upon your unique gifts, and become very competent despite where you find yourself planted in life today.

There is a Plains Indian tradition in the United States called a vision quest. There are most likely similar traditions in various cultures and religions, but I am most familiar with the Lakota tradition. One of the interesting things about the vision quest is that it’s done in seclusion, but with the help of the community. It takes quite a bit of preparation to do a vision quest. This includes working with a medicine man, preparing small sacks of tobacco for the creation of the circle, sweat lodges for cleansing before the vision quest, and prayers from the community during it. There is no eating or drinking for four days, so one comes close to death. One sits in the middle of a circle outside. One prays, one observes, and one seeks for a vision that will help the community.

Everyone knows what prayer is and most of us do it, but do we do it right? Jesus Christ, in his own words reveals to us how to pray.

Conflicting beliefs that exist in the mind create conflicting outcomes in life. If you want to create something exciting in your life, but you don’t believe that you can do it, what are you putting out there? The universe works on the basis of action-reaction. If your action is the creation of confusing or conflicting thought-forms then the reaction of life will be confusing or conflicting situations within your dream.

Alcohol, sex, wealth and anger are four great walls. Many men and women are trapped within them. Those who can jump over them are immortals. The world is full of traps specially baited to appeal to our weaknesses and deep rooted habits.

If you are nice, does this imply that you must necessarily finish last? Most people give a knee-jerk response to this statement without really contemplating its true import or implications. This statement, along with bromides like “It’s a dog-eat-dog world,” serve only both to disempower and force us to believe in false doctrines established by society.

Out with the old and in with the new. The New Year always brings the best expectations, a time when we can forget what lies behind and continue into an unknown future which we all hope will be better than the past we are leaving. What do those of us who truly “believe” think about this transition?

The ability for man to truly love is based on his ability to love, a stranger, an enemy or himself. Even thow one be cast into prison, doesn’t mean that we must forget about love and compassion. The Guilty must be punished but our love for the guilty must be as strong for them as for the innocent.
