Jesus’ Sermon On the Mount – Matthew 6 Verse 2
MOTIVES are weighed by the LORD. Not an iota of ill-gotten gain is blessed until every last skerrick is accounted for. The kudos we get because we thrust ourselves into the forefront of contentious attention comes to nothing. It’s rendered worthless. We established for ourselves a reward that passes away at light speed.
Jesus’ Sermon On the Mount – Matthew 6 Verse 1KUDOS. Favour. Praise. Acclaim. Credit. Applause. Compliments. We all like such responses of kindness, flattery, or worth. When life runs our way there is plenty of this that we get that we thrive on. But when we don’t get it, it can mess with our sense of self.
THE GIANTS hit town recently and so captured our imaginations we didn’t quite know how to view these 11-metre diver and 6-metre girl puppets. So massive were their proportions they required a support crew of over a hundred red-clad ‘little’ people, and a purported one million people showed up to see the fantasy unfold. It was breathtaking.
Jesus’ Sermon On the Mount – Matthew 5 Verse 48DISCIPLESHIP – a much confused word – is confused in this statement of Jesus’, surely? For, discipleship is as much, and more, about progress in the Christian life as it is about perfection. But there is one perfection that Jesus has in sight in this teaching.
Birth, Death and Reincarnation Has a Divine Purpose and Spiritual GoalThe birth of this lifetime was not the first one. As a matter of fact, we have had millions upon millions of births in the past. “Yes”, there may be no way to prove it with our scientific methods. There are records of people having been regressed through hypnosis into number of their past lives.
Has Your Quest and Search for Spiritual Satisfaction Been Realised or Has That Yet to Be Discovered? This is important because I have met many who have searched for that spirituality which satisfies and which lasts and endures and some have never found and discovered it. Your quest and search can be over soon! How committed are you to that which is genuinely spiritual and realistically religious? And, to what are you committed, and to what have you committed your life? Once we resolve the answers to these questions the rest of life can become simpler although never losing its challenge.
Do you need healing? Do you need forgiveness? Then I point you to Jesus Christ, who said, “Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing!” You could read this article today and go out, knowing that every barrier between you and God has been broken down, and that every barrier between you and some long lost friend can be broken down. Blessing lights up man’s whole experience with joy and peace and courage and serenity. You may know deep down that God has something more for you, and you know it is there awaiting you, and as you join in singing the Psalms and the hymns and the spiritual songs, you are aware that there is something more because these create a thirst and longing for what Paul is speaking about here. Many battle with this for years. It was in 1969 when I had my fiercest battle over this. Paul knew the fullness of the blessing of God and he would have every believer in Jesus experience and enjoy that fullness.
Heart and SoulWhat is it to love from the Heart? True and Unconditional Love.
He Never Lost His Passionate Ambition and His Light Never Dimmed or Darknened – What an Example!Have you got ambition? Have you got some goal for which you are aiming? Let this help, encourage, and inspire you! “See Rome and die” says the proverb. It was the ambitious dream and goal of Paul, the servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to see Rome before he died. He was determined not only to see it but to win it for Christ. His ambition was far greater than that of a mere traveller. The early church had a strange name of Jesus. They called Him the Alpha and the Omega. He is everything worthwhile from A to Z. Have you found in Jesus Christ everything that you really needed?
Seeing JesusI was a Christian for years before I ever found my life. I was saved and on my way to heaven but I had no clue what my life was all about, because it was all hidden, and I had to find it. Your life is hidden and you have to find it, and the way to find it is found in Colossians 3:1-3, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.
Why Spirituality?Spirituality is a word that we can be afraid of yet it is the very element that will make our lives much better. It is about exploring ourselves on a deeper level without having to tie ourselves to beliefs.
Trusting In the DivineWe all know that being compassionate should be the norm all year – and some people are. However, acts of kindness tend to increase and be more emphasized during this time of year. So, what hinders this level of compassion throughout the year?
