God so loved you… His love did not start in the present, today, not just now… Not even because you are taking a decision to become His child, NO! Not that you loved God… for until you knew Him you did not know Him; neither His love nor how to respond to His love!

Numbers play a huge role in our lives and we often use them as lucky numbers to play such games of chance and the Lotto. Many players have used combinations of birthdays, anniversaries, numerology destiny numbers and name numbers to come up with unique and often winning combinations.

Controversial as it may be, the significance of numbers in the Bible can’t be ignored. There are multiple repeating patterns of numbers and if there was no significance to them then why are they so prominent?

Punk rock has always been my main religion. Other religions have competed for my attention but when it came down to it – Punk Rock was it. I remember when I was 14 – I had been listening to punk since I was 11 but after watching the Sex Pistols Great Rocknroll Swindle, punk rock became a faulty source of strength for me.

Adoration of persons is still common even in this 21st century. Leaders, Actors and other idolized persons are still being adored or promoted and in many cases imposed upon nations to be forcefully adored all over the world.

When a friend is in the hospital, it can be very meaningful for us to visit with them. This is especially true if they are a religious person and would enjoy someone reading a short scripture and saying a prayer for them. However, if we are not careful, we can cause more harm than good. This article contains two examples of hospital visits, one good, the other not so good. It uses a bit of humor to make a good point.

Something irreplaceable in the armoury of living is the feeling of buoyancy within. We either have it or we don’t. And it’s not something that, having received it, we keep indefinitely. Spiritual well-being is a thing to be worked for; a thing to be nurtured; a delicate balance to be mastered.

You have believed, you have prayed, you have gotten wise counsel, you have checked that your prayer is consistent with Scripture and you have peace about the final outcome, yet nothing is happening. There are no small or large changes, everything seems to be still (almost to a stop) and then you wonder is this really the right thing? Is this thing that you have been praying for really going to happen or is it just another prayer on the long list of prayers that did not get answered or worse got answered in a manner opposite from how you prayed.

This is a timely message at Easter time because in I’m going to share about how to manifest your dreams in the context of what’s been holding us back from creating the world we all would truly love to see, and that has everything to do with certain illusions we’ve been historically harboring that have been perpetuated primarily by religion. We all feel betrayed from time to time; when God’s defence of us has fallen strangely silent. We will ask, ‘How long, O LORD?’ And we won’t like the answer. Times like these we’re invited into the suffering servant Spirit of Jesus who endured everything we have, and more. Such contemplation will help. Our perspectives are being broadened. When we desire to understand God’s entire plan for our lives we may eventually discover why many of our prayers remain unanswered in the affirmative.

Though lay people may not have as extensive a library as pastors, any lay person who aspires to preach with any degree of regularity should have at least three types of resources in their theological library. Those three types of resources are a concordance, a commentary and a Bible dictionary. There are a growing number of quality resources available in a variety of media, but the principles below apply to online, print, or digital formats.
