Think about life. What if we had no fear of the future, no judgment about others or ourselves, and no resistance to new experiences. Wouldn’t that be a great world?

I was easily going to title this article “Life before Birth” but “Life before Conception” is more appropriate because the life I am referring to is not the life of a fetus in the mother’s womb; it is the life of someone before they are even conceived! However, I will use “birth” and “conception” to refer to the same thing. For many years, as a little boy I fancied the thought of having lived before; a thought I never comfortably shared with anyone because it seemed weird when compared to the norm.

With corruption and greed everywhere, crime and depravity, distrust among friends and colleagues, it may be hard to see how God’s providence is working out for the best. But there has always been corruption. God’s will for the world is not that He waves a magic wand and suddenly everything is perfect.

Because we live under God’s grace and love, we no longer need to give every penny we have away in order to continue under the Lord’s kind providence. But the nature of God’s salvation is such that it comes more easily to those in need. For those in need are constantly looking heavenward for help and support.
