We know from Scripture where Peace does not come from. Paul said that the letter (the gramma or grapho, a written letter or doctrine) can actually kill or rob the spirit of Love and Peace. There have been times in my life when I would fight for my own view; but that is over, done, finished! I have fallen in LOVE with the Peace of the Mind of Christ.

At certain times in our lives we experience changes that turn our lives upside down, and when things seem impossibly desperate we may even find ourselves wondering what God was thinking to allow it. And yet He can take even the most difficult of circumstances and turn them around for our good. He does it all the time, if we’re discerning enough to see it. In fact, the purpose of trials is to draw us to Him. Think about this: if you had no troubles, would you need Him at all? Would you call upon Him and spend intimate time alone with Him in that secret place if you had no need for His company? Rather unlikely, is it not?

For the last year or so I’ve been talking about what I think would be an amazing addition to my day. It’s something I’ve wanted to build into my routine so badly, I just can’t seem to get it working.

What is real suffering? Have you ever felt like you were alone in your trials? Where can you find help through the storm?

It often starts as though there is another person in us goading us along to do it. A voice telling us that unless we can say it, put it to practice then we aren’t who we think we are. As children these voices come from our peers, friends and classmates and as adults this voice is within us.

And still we’re so apt, as habit would have it, to separate out those lived realities – the external things God and humankind can have; the internal, however, belonging to ourselves, and perhaps our own secret sins, including our covetousness.

The real pot of gold is Wisdom and a legacy and nothing of this world comes after it, in comparison. A choice remains for each of us. But know, true success is first achieved with credibility and a good reputation.

Judge not and you would not be judged. To judge something is to make or form an opinion of something whether right or wrong. When you judge someone or something, you open yourself to be judged by another based on the measure of your judgment. It comes back to you like the reflection or image from a mirror. Do as a child does, merely observe.

We all sense that pride precedes the fall. But at times, however, we don’t personalise it before it occurs. Our challenge is to see our pride as it looms and then humbly quash it before we have our consequential ‘problems’ to deal with.
