This articles intention is to provide the reader with a refreshed look at the Angelic/Cosmic energies commonly referred to as Orisha. The aim is to prepare the one who desires to work with these powerful energies by establishing a foundation of understanding with these forces internally first and updating the perception of how these energies manifest themselves in modern times.

When Mary Magdalene looked into the empty tomb, she was not in a state of mind to allow her to remember the many references her teacher had made of the third day, she was too busy mourning, to preoccupied to reflect in the significance of the empty tomb. She could not even assimilate the meaning of the sentence voiced by the angels “why are you looking for the living among the dead” (Luke 24:5b).

Some sermons made us feel good. Some sermons pointed out weaknesses in our personalities that we may have not wanted to face, but know we need to. Sermons like that are good for us from time to time. Then there are those sermons that hit us hard and really challenge us. Most of us do not like those kinds of sermons very much. How should we respond to them?

The more we can reflect on such things, what God went through to bring us our spiritual freedom, the more we redeem the practical competencies of virtue that lay forever unfathomable in a way that they cannot ever be exhausted. The more we reflect over Jesus’ sacrifice and what it means, the more we experience humility, thankfulness, compassion, awe, hope, etc.

The Christ of the cross is the answer for all our problems. The cross is the symbol of suffering. It is also the symbol of forgiveness. He nailed the law to the cross, taking it out of the way. By the law no one can be justified (Galatians 2:16). Only the blood of Jesus can forgive our sins. It is the symbol of peace. Jesus gives us peace with God and us. If we have this, we can cope with our physical problems.

When we’re raised in Christ, redeemed from death to sin, freed from the yoke of slavery, we’re saved forever more. There’s no need to look back. Instead we enjoy this copiously abundant open life. We enjoy it with God’s blessing.

On two separate occasions in Luke 24 we find Jesus expounding the history of God and the significance of his resurrection in the expanse of Knowledge. When we begin to acknowledge the illusory quality of our separate realities, we move towards an awareness of life’s oneness. When we see something as an illusion, we feel the desire to lift the veil and discover how things really are. The human being may be the only life form in the evolutionary scale that feels separate, and therefore moved to work through that evolution, and the ego makes it possible and necessary.
