As Christians we make the mistake of expecting God to show us goodness and mercy without taking the responsibility of doing that which pleases him. The Bible gives us a clue on how we can have God pursuing us. It says ” The Father seeks those who will worship in spirit and truth. Whilst the subject of this discussion is not all about worship, let me say that worship pleases God. It pleases Him so much that he created mankind just to worship. There are many things that you can do that glorify God and I would like to share eight of them with you.

The Word of God teaches us, as believers in Jesus Christ, to forgive all of those who wrong us in any manner. This is important if we are to walk closely with the Lord. As a matter of fact, we cannot experience the joy of answered prayer, if we do not walk in love and forgiveness. Forgiving people is a must if we desire the Hand of God to intervene in our affairs. When our Lord Jesus Christ spoke concerning receiving answers to prayer in Mark chapter eleven, verse twenty-four, He was quick to add in verses twenty-five and twenty-six that we must forgive. To the Lord, this is not optional. If we refuse to forgive someone who wrongs us, He has firmly stated that God will not forgive us of our sins either. According to Jesus, the sin of forgiveness is one of the greatest hindrances to answered prayer.

Fasting is a topic which many Christians would like to ignore. But it cannot be pushed aside for it is a vital ingredient for successful christian living. To fast, according to Webster’s Dictionary, simply means to abstain. It is the laying aside of food for the purpose of spending extra time seeking the Lord to meet a particular need, or to determine His Will and leading, or to draw closer to God. Fasting can be used to change a situation, an individual, a group of people or a Nation. It is a powerful spiritual force and when done correctly releases the power of God in marvelous ways upon the affairs of man-kind.

Religion aside faith is the essential ingredient for survival, conquering and thriving in this world and we need it as much as air, water and food. Certain indicators deplete ones faith and sometimes the damage is so severe that ones spirit may have been driven underground. To understand why something as ethereal as faith is beneficial we have to ask the question, what is faith. One may aim to disprove everything but all that does is to confound life retiring ones authenticity into the hands of other forces beyond oneself. Why one would do such a thing is left to the state of mental acuity and link with immortality.

There are two beliefs that the vast majority of humanity has harbored since the early days of our existence that has had dire consequences on our ability to love and accept ourselves. Those two beliefs are: 1) That we are separate from the Source of all things, and 2) That we are flawed from birth. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

There are two choices right in front of you here. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live.
