Zechariah 6 – The Four Winds of Heaven
God does not do things by half. And there is nothing unintentional about God’s activity, by his Spirit, over the earth. When God moves he brings the fullness of his divine intent and plan to being. We would be fools to ignore or trivialise this.
Our Hurting Troubled World Needs the True Gospel of Jesus Christ to Save and Heal and Reconcile! When reading about Revival and Spirituality and Inspiration, there can appear before one, sentences that challenge and make one think. We have to rely more and more upon our gracious God, and at times that is not easy. There is a responsibility, that is God’s and God’s alone, and that is releasing and liberating to a certain degree. Perhaps I need to give myself more to prayer. But, and it is a massive but, I desire to remain faithful to the Christ who has called me right to the very end and to keep serving as faithfully as I possible can until it is all over down here for me.
Jonah was called of God to go to Nineveh and preach. It was a large wild violent city and there is a similar wild violent behaviour going on in that same area of Iraq today. God sends a man like Jonah with His Word to this situation. Go to Nineveh. It is a most difficult place, but it is better to go with God, than go on a Mediterranean cruise, running away from God and His people. Do we all have a Nineveh? It might be a place we do not want to go to – a hard place – a place which does not fit in with our plans? It might be circumstances, or people, we would prefer to avoid.
What Is Reiki and Is It Different To Other Forms Of Healing? For every person who has experienced Reiki there are many who have no idea what it is. Even those who have had a Reiki treatment are often hard pushed to explain it if asked, ‘What Is Reiki?’ Here Helen discussed her thoughts on Reiki; what it is, and whether it is different to other healing methods that are available.
Is Sin Really All That Serious and How Might It Affect Our Lives and the Lives of Others? There may be something very special and specific, and even miraculous, which you need Almighty God to do for you as you read this. The risen and living Lord Jesus Christ is still in the business of working supernaturally and performing miracles. You have heard me say before in these articles that “A miracle is God at work!” King David tried to outrun God’s Commands by taking Bathsheba and committing adultery and organising the murder of her husband and God had to deal with David the king. Nathan the prophet has to courageously confront David with the severity of his appalling behaviour. Read his profound confession in Psalm 51 if you need an insight into the seriousness of his sin. Again, it is all about God and man and forgiveness and restoration.
The Surprising Original Definition of KarmaThe definition of karma certainly has been warped in modern times. Many throw the word around, using it incorrectly, yet mock the concept of reincarnation. Work your way through the New Age best-seller list today and you’ll find dramatically different takes on the ancient and original definition of karma, and creative (yet misleading) advice like the following.
Years ago I met a man named Jamie who I was involved with for many years. He was trying to leave a spiritual group that he had been a part of for five years. Before I met him I had no interest in this group. I would be in the bookstore and touch a book written by their leader and my intuition would tell me no, not for me.
My Belief That I Am SpecialAs I have studied A Course in Miracles, I have questioned why I would want to separate from God in the first place. Why would I want to go my own way when my journey has become one of returning home to God?
Lord, Why Won’t You Fight For Me?Psalms of imprecation are bellows from the depths of our being against the injustices we’ve suffered where God appears silent. The above song is an example. I’ve been in these situations and so have many of my friends; indeed, I really do think we’ve all been in these situations – we’ve been faithful to God in trusting him, yet things occur that are always beyond our control and seemingly beyond God’s intervention. We wonder, “Why, God… why are you so impotent?”
The Living CathedralThis will be an interesting subject, I know it is an interesting title. So, I will start with this: God is not in a church, and God is not a he or a she, but God is in everything, every atom, molecule and particle of everything.
Where the Holy Spirit Alone Leads No Person Can PersuadeIt’s the very definition of frustration: to expect a result that is unreasonable to expect. It’s unreasonable to expect another person to see what we see, to believe what we believe they should do, and to require they act how we would act if we were them. It’s unreasonable to expect that they, too, won’t get frustrated. Frustration meets frustration, as one party frustrated frustrates another. We have to get beyond our mutual frustration. We have to stop expecting things of one another. We have to stop looking externally, and allow God to wring us out internally.
Spiritual Amnesia and God’s Unconditional LoveLet’s say an individual gets into a horrible auto accident and loses his or her memory and suffers from amnesia. Let’s say the individual has no recollection of his or her spouse, children, or parents. This individual behaves as if he or she is not married, is irresponsible with his or her children, and treats his or her parents as if they are strangers.
