I believe we each have that divine child within us who holds the spark of our passion – the key to our creativity… that wonderful, magical essence tucked within us who can chart the course to our mastery and fill our hearts with pure joy. It is this I believe we all seek.

In the Christian Bible, Jesus taught that you should teach a man to fish so that he could feed himself. Giving a man a fish makes him dependent on you and he is vulnerable to exploitation and becomes disempowered through your generosity.

” What path is right for me?”, is a question that each seeker asks at least once in their lives. As children, most individuals follow the pathways of their parents. Even if a parent has no particular spiritual path, the child is influenced by their parent. This is almost genetic as, regardless of a path, the mother, to the child, is the goddess. As one grows older and begins to think for themselves, they begin to feel a desire to either embrace or reject their parental suggestions. This includes the chosen spiritual path of the individual.

Lord, Your words have the ability to startle and thrill my heart all at the same time. I know I have often judged my own heart incorrectly. Forgive me for not extending the same grace to myself that You give me. Teach me to forgive and see myself and my heart the way you do…to see myself as one who continually keeps my ear to Your heart. Remove all scales of doubt and unbelief from my eyes. Soften the crusty places with the oil of Your Presence and I will be changed…I will be able to see.

Not one day goes by in which we are yet again astounded by some scientific accomplishment that blows us away. Only to find that in a few years that knowledge will probably be completely outdated by some other incredible discovery. No wonder we have the tendency to believe we are capable of anything. Nevertheless, that is a delusion. It doesn’t matter how smart we think we are or how determined we are to give it our all, human efforts are pitifully meek compared to what God can do through a person who chooses to believe in Him.

The Laws of Quantum Physics have told us that thoughts (words are spoken thoughts) are things. Therefore be careful of what you think. Unconscious thinking can be dangerous.

What is Karma? Karma means action, generally taken as a term that comprises the entire cycle of cause and effect. Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing, and will do. So the theory is, if we do good deeds then we accumulate good karma, if we do evil deeds, it would stand to reason that we accumulate bad karma.

Lord, I so desire for my heart and my soul to receive such a gift from You…such a sound from Heaven. I long for Your love to swell in my heart like an open gate and pour out of my being with rivers of living water. I know I have had questions that seem to have no real practical answers sometimes. I know all things cannot be grasped with the mind but must be absorbed by the spirit within me. Some of Your Word today seems too grand and I can’t wrap my mind around the simplicity of relationship with You. Teach me to glory in the simple ways…in the simple things.

When we can ‘fix’ our thinking and incorrect perception and paradigms using this skill of spiritual insight, we’re well on the way. In emotional intelligence terms we’re discussing self- and social-awareness. Being totally self-aware is the beginning of it all.

Once a week, usually on Sunday, my husband and I drive to Poulsbo, a town about half an hour from our house, to do our grocery shopping. The store we go to has a couple of features that are important to us, such as a huge organic food section and no “membership” card. Plus it’s close to one of our favorite restaurants, where my husband wisely feeds me before we go grocery shopping, thus saving us untold amounts of money.
