Any more, it seems to me that watching the news is like the need to know everything that’s going on so we can talk about it to others. The worse the news is, the more we will talk about it and offer our own opinion on the matter. This in itself can create alot of negative outcome when others don’t see things the same way. In fact, it’s a rule of thumb that we shouldn’t talk about politics and religion because no two people see eye to eye and this creates arguements. The main reason for the wars that are breaking out today are due to politics and religion, so neither one is a peaceful subject. It’s also a shame that what seems to be a private matter, is made public for everyone’s comments. What’s the point? Does it solve anything and do we really care if someone is being exploited or not? This is how gossip gets started. Someone hears something and it gets repeated and the next thing you know the whole thing is twisted way out of context. People get hurt because it will get back to them. Then the person who started it all ends up looking rather foolish. They will try to convince others that it wasn’t what they meant, or it wasn’t what they said. Fact of the matter is, something was said that just shouldn’t have been repeated in the first place. Why do we continually set ourselves up for the fall? It’s something about the lust of the flesh that calls to our inner animal urges to act upon the wrong things. How can we abstain from doing this? Is there an answer? Yes, and it’s in God’s Word.
