How To Develop Your Competency

Have you ever wondered how to get from your hearts desire to walking in the will of God? What are the keys to competing in the race in a worthy manner so that God will grant the desires of our heart? How do we fully delight ourselves in the LORD and how do we remain faithful? Do you want to preach the Word of God but have not the time to go to Bible college? Perhaps my story might inspire you.

God is more than a cup of blessing. He is the Blesser. He is more than a drink of living water. He is the life giver. He is more that the fruit of the lips. He is the Husbandman. He is more that a word of encouragement and help. He is the God of all hope. He is more than an act of compassion. He is the Father of all mercies. Praise His Name.

As a Christian it took a long time for me to stop judging other faiths and to change my behavior and attitude to the Chinese, and it recently took me a long while to find love for my enemy. I took a long time to come to the faith to tithe and to live in peace with all men. So this little sermon might seem a little hard and harsh, but it is one I had to learn before I wrote it. I have enough scripture references in it to support what I say and you could simply take all my words out and simply meditate the scriptures and you will be convicted to change. I encourage you to give it a read.

Is there any benefit in turning from the lusts of the world and denying ourselves the good things of life? Is self denial profitable and how can we benefit from serving God through serving others and laying down our lives to do so? I live a life for Jesus, a life of denial where other people get my money that I could spend getting more DVD’s or to own or better clothes to wear. Surely there can be no good thing in denying ourselves of pleasure or is there? Here are four good things you will gain if you do.

The I Ching talked me out of two jobs I really, really wanted to take. Saying yes or no to a job commitment has major life implications and this ancient Chinese method of conversing with the higher self lets one consult wiser guidance than our waking ego (“the village idiot of the psyche”).

The apostolic grace and anointing of the Spirit changes nations. Through church planting, birthing Bible schools, and training the next generation of ministers the apostle is a catalyst for Christ bringing heaven to earth.

We sometimes become so trapped in our reality that we forget we created it. We sometimes believe so much in “materiality” that we forget all is forever spiritual. We sometimes forget so much to exercise our innate creatorship that we believe we are powerless. Empowerment is just a simple step: awaken from the illusion and understand we are pure spirit in expression.

In America, Thanksgiving traditionally means family, friends and especially food. We cook and eat as if there was a scarcity of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and creamy vegetables. We dive into pumpkin pie as if there was a national law that says it can only be served and eaten one day a year.

In the yoga tradition when we bid each other farewell, we say, “Namaste”. Loosely translated that means, the sacred in me recognizes the sacred in you. This year, instead of Merry Christmas or Happy New Year, or Happy Birthday, or anything else, maybe our greeting for everyone should be Namaste.

Returning to our roots and connecting with our environment has a positive impact upon mind, body and spirit. no wonder more and more people are awakening and embracing Metaphysics as a spiritual practice. It makes logical and scientific sense, but it does not demand doctrine or dogma. Could this be a means to finding your spiritual path?

The Bible uses water as a symbol of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We know that without water there can be no living matter as we know it on the earth. Water is essential. Go without water for a day or so and you will see just how important water is to the human body. The same thing is ture concerning spiritual things. Without spiritual water all things remain in a dead state. It is essential to life.

Do you feel like your life is being turned upside down like a chess board and right when you thought you were about to win the game the game pieces go flying and no one knows what the next move is? Well, GOOD. You are right where God wants you to be.
