Simplifying Your Life – Confessions of a Recovering Workaholic
I was a workaholic…It was with the birth of my daughter, that I realized that the only one who could stop the charging train of my life was me. The world wasn’t going to slow down, the work wasn’t going to go away, people’s expectations weren’t going to lessen. But I had to change. I had to rethink what I thought God was asking of me, and what was really important in life. I had to face that my busyness was an addiction that made me feel important. It was a substitute for the value and significance that I, as a Christian, needed to get from God.
There is one thing for certain and that is life just isn’t fair! How can we understand this? Before I was saved, I just couldn’t understand why bad things would happen to good people. Now that I am saved, I am understanding that bad things happen to everyone, whether they are bad, good, saved or unsaved. Life just isn’t fair, that’s all there is to it. But now as I walk close to my Lord, I can understand now some of the reasons why we must all go through adversities. Especially as a child of God’s. Life was never promised to be fair, but when God’s favor is upon your life, it is a lot easier to accept when things don’t seem to go your way. How do we handle it when life just doesn’t seem fair?

How to Deal With the Storms of LifeSome of life’s storms come upon us suddenly as was the case for the disciples in the ship. We suddenly lose someone we love, we have a bitter disappointment, a crushing financial situation, or a physical illness that threatens to change our life forever or even threatens to end it.
As the events of the Virginia Tech shootings unfolded last week, I was caught off guard because I had no previous sense of “pending events” and a very desensitized and detached regard for the story as it unfolded. I don’t hang a shingle outside my office saying that I am a “psychic” coach, but there have been moments in my past, like the one at VT, where for sometimes weeks prior to the event, I would “get” clues and feel agitated as if waiting for the other shoe to drop but not understanding why.
The Storms of LifeAre you waiting for something to happen? Does most of your life revolve around that desire for your life? Do you lose what today could have been by always looking ahead to what you want it to be? This year I discovered how much of my life has been lived for the future. Where did all my todays go?
Stand Up & Fight for HealthAll that Jesus did on the Cross that day is available to us… freely! The Bible says He bore our sins and our diseases. We accept salvation as a gift… and we must also accept healing as a gift. It was part of the early church. Somewhere along the way it was left behind.
Top ModelTop Model. Who is on top? Who is on the bottom? Would you like to be on top of all that you do? Would you like to lead your life just the way you would like it to be? Would you like to be the creator of all that you are and all that you have?
Stormy TroublesHow do you weather the storms of life? All of us can surely make a long list of them. Sometimes I call them classrooms of life and wonder what I could do different this time to get a passing grade. I know the thought behind this is that if I can figure out how to weather this storm “correctly” I won’t have to have so many troubles in life. Not so!

Destiny and the Law of KarmaSome of us believe that we have full control over our lives. However, this may not be entirely true. Destiny or fate plays a very important role in our lives irrespective of our gender, race, religion, nationality etc. To explain the concept of destiny, we need to understand what destiny is. The popular western view is that we are in control of our lives and everything that happens to us is because of our own choice. On the other hand, the popular eastern view is that not every thing that happens to us is under our control and that we are nothing but puppets in a preordained plan.
