Even though the world does not accept the one that brings peace, individuals can have peace if we live by his standards.

The application of the profit motive to food production has come at the cost to the nutritional value of the very food we eat, and in so doing threatened our own health. It appears that nature will only accommodate limited interference in the natural cycle of life before we experience the effects of our actions. In our endeavors to prolong the life of foodstuffs to maximise profits, we are tampering with the core essence and purpose of the food needed for us to survive as a species.

In the same way that the head teacher in any school influences the atmosphere and thinking of all who are involved with the school, so share holders affect the mood of modern society. The share holder, quite rightly, seeks the best return for the investment made and in this single directive generates stress throughout society. This is manifest in the uncertainty this directive breeds, from the chief executive down to the post room and beyond to the suppliers, aware that this support can be removed at any time, and the possible implications this would have upon the lives of all concerned.

40 years ago the Lloyd’s insurance market was run by agreements settled with a handshake. Anyone who abused the system was simply excluded from this very profitable “club”. Not only was business done in a fast, efficient and profitable fashion, but high integrity meant that personal esteem reduced costs and made risk taking and business development more attractive. Honesty and Truth are not naive values that cannot be afforded today but integral aspects of human behaviour that we have lost sight of, and in so doing reduced our own levels of personal esteem and social sovereignty.

We are all witnesses to courageous acts and yet we ignore the ceaseless acts of courage displayed by us and others in simply living life. The examples I have illustrated are both mind blowing and life changing, but not unusual. In understanding better how we all rise to what appear to be insurmountable challenges we come to respect ourselves and others in a more enlightened manner which can change the way we all live our lives.

How we can overcome fear of death. To all of us, Life is an unknown quantity which will often end in desolation, agony, and sorrow. Yet we like to talk about life. But when we think of speaking about death, we are horrified, mortified.

We all have it within us to find our voice of love. With practice, patience, self-awareness and most of all letting go of non-acceptance, we can hear the voice of love.
