My approach to spiritual retreats is to not manage the retreat. On the surface it sounds strange, but I continue to go deeper with this idea or non-idea of non-management here in the Magic Kingdom and in my own life. What does it mean?

We inhabit a culture of blame. When something goes wrong, as it inevitably does in this flawed realm, we immediately seek the villain / culprit / scapegoat to demonize. As though by framing another we somehow absolve ourselves from any responsibility.

How do you obtain patience in an impatient world? I have found that you can be patient when the world is racing around you and time is passing as though the hands of the clock are actually moving at the speed of light.

I was struggling with the ability to forgive and I knew I was ready and willing. I realized, for me, defining forgiveness was the first step to actually experiencing it. I found this to also be true for my clients.

Though we all have our own concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, when we think objectively the concept of morality is a slippery one, if it any concrete existence at all. Just look at how laws, organized society’s embodiment of morality, differ from culture to culture and even over (a short) time within the same culture.
