The Parable of the Weeds
One day, a man went to his field and planted wheat seeds then went back home. When people slept, his enemy came and planted tares among the wheat seeds. When the plants were sprung up and brought forth fruit, the weeds were also noticed. The workers of the man asked him what they shall do but the man asked them to leave everything as it is.
The Parable of the SowerJesus sometimes taught through parables. Mathew 13:23.This one was about a man who sowed seeds on his farm. Some fell by the road side and they were devoured by the fowls. Others fell by the stones and because there was not much soil here, they had no chance of survival. Immediately they sprung up, they were scorched by the sun and withered as the roots were not firm enough. Others fell among thorns and when they sprung up, they were choked by the weeds and died.
The Kingdom of God is likened to a net that is thrown into the sea and it gathered everything of every kind. When it was full, they drew it on shore and selected the good fish from the bad. The good ones were put on the ships but the bad ones were thrown away. This tells us that at the end of the world, this is what will happen.
The Parable of the Hidden Treasure and the PearlThe Kingdom of God was likened to a treasure hid in a field, which when a man found hid went and sold all that he had and bought that field. It is also likened to a merchant seeking fine pearls. When he found one of great price, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
The Parable of the Mustard Seed and YeastMathew 13:31-34 explains these two parables in depth. The first one is of man who went to the field and sowed a mustard seed which was the least in size of all seeds. It later grew and became a big tree where birds came to nestle. The other one is of a woman who hid leaven in three measures of meal till the whole was leavened. This is how Jesus taught.
