A couple of years ago I was on a teleconference call for subscribers to Spiritual Cinema Circle and because the feature movie was Conversations With God, Neale Donald Walsch was on the phone. Though I don’t remember the question which spurred this answer, I do remember that the following was the basis for a fairly lengthy answer: “We cannot give that which we do not already have.” After hearing that, I paused for a moment and really tried to take in what he was saying. Is it true? Can I give somebody a dollar bill if I do not have one to give? Am I incapable of giving somebody love if I do not already have love to give? Can I teach somebody to listen if I am not able to hear what others have to say?
