Growing up in Puerto Rico I used to love to fight. I became an amateur boxer as a teen just to add to the “reputation.” Shortly after 1991, as I made Jacksonville home, I started studying various styles of Martial Arts; it was a more civilized and in a sense, legal way, of getting some of this fighting steam out of me. I have been involved in many fights in my life, but nothing can even come close to the intensity of fighting the good fight of faith.

The love that I am writing about is the love that gladly gives it all without hidden agendas. A love that gives, expecting nothing in return. It is the love that sacrifices, the love that carries the heavy burden of long suffering, the love that is able to see your greatness in the Lord beyond your current humanity, and the love that sets our own dreams on hold for the sake of our brother.

Last week I returned from Southeast Asia and an opportunity of a lifetime. I spent 14 days traveling on the Irrawaddy River by riverboat, 600 miles into the remote center of Myanmar (Burma). This is a land frozen in time. There is no internet access, no cell phones or land lines. Cars are only found in the larger cities where they are used as taxis.

Sometimes it doesn’t seem like God knows how we feel or what we’re going through. There are times when we don’t think we can make it. The Bible is filled with God’s people who felt that way.

When you want something, you ask, right? If you don’t ask, you don’t get. I didn’t realise this until a few years ago and I wonder why there were things in life that I wanted and didn’t have!

These are some quick thoughts, channeled from Spirit. This lesson is meant to get you to step back from issues that cause anxiety. Instead, step towards the aspects of calm and tranquil approaches to your physical life.

The sun shone through the window for the first time in what seemed like months. What it revealed was startling. What before had appeared as a clean window, dusted furniture, and swept floors was a very dirty window, dust where I hadn’t noticed it before, and a not so clean floor.

The complexities and richness of the human experience can never be fully explained in words or understood with the brain alone, and in truth, they will never be fully understood by mankind as it evolves and progresses. It is true that the human species has the ability to understand the true nature of the universe, but only with full use in a more balanced way, of the intellect and the intuitive facets of the entire personality.
