Many of the people who are not yet enlightened are of the opinion that creation was done and completed millions of years ago and that was it. Unfortunately that is not the truth. Creation continues even to this present day in the entire universe were miracles are happening daily; earth quakes, new diseases, new information, new creations in Christ.

Having the Lord in your life means you have peace and comfort in your heart as you walk down any pathway your life has to offer. It means you can pray to a caring compassionate Father who always has the time to listen and never fails to understand the hurts and fears dwelling in the depths of your soul.

I’m entering the cafe at Borders, the bookstore near my apartment, after feeling the need to be around other people, order an Evian water, then take a seat at a table near the center of the room. Sensing a tangible energy forming at the roof of my skull, I sink deeply into the chair and my body suddenly feels paralyzed, heavy as stone. I look around the room at the crowd, observe the people sipping their afternoon lattes, perusing through magazines, and reading books. I’m looking at college students studying, business people meeting, and they all seem completely oblivious to my company–as if I’m simply not here. After a long time of sitting motionless, the heaviness wanes and I begin to feel weightless.

I can hear a dog barking in the distance, and the birds singing as the dew starts to drip into the ground. A rooster will sing again in a few minutes, announcing the coming of a new day, the occasional car will sip by in the nearby road. And as I sit on my bed hearing the musical sounds of nature walking its course, I cannot help remembering that I serve the one who created all things, all of these sounds, all of this beauty, all of this life.

This title might sound suicidal, but this is not my intention. When you look at your life as the consciousness that keeps you alive and allows you to be more active, letting go of your life is freeing your consciousness. You are freeing it from your thoughts and conditioning. This allows you to be conscious of powerful inner resources and develop a deep spiritual connection. This goes against the way most people live their life.

The heritage is not, then, about a bloodline of obedience – more, in this case and so many more, it is faithfulness.

Millions of people around the world will profess faith in Christ – marking “Christian” on important identification papers – or for that matter “Muslim” et cetera – but don’t follow that profession at all apart from ‘agreeing’ with its values, yet not aligning with them. We can very well respect the ardent Muslim for the commitment they may have to their beliefs – for instance, adhering to their holy month of Ramadan. We would call them a real believer in Islam. So what makes a real believer in Jesus Christ?

A useful tool for purposeful living is identifying the emotional motivation for your decisions. We can fear not having enough income, or we can fear losing approval from others. We can fear the anger of someone, or we can fear the unknown. We can fear change, and we can fear letting go.
