Are we unconsciously destined to be like Saul? That is a question that would strike up as you study the life of Saul and the lives of modern Christians. It’s not that Christians always want to please the people around them but it’s the striking resemblance that you can notice as you study the life of king Saul. To fully understand this, let us study his life more.

All of us go through challenging times in our life – times where we feel burned out and depleted; times we face the grief of unbearable loss through death, divorce, or illness; times we just feel dead ourselves as we move by rote – empty of connection, clarity, direction or self-love. Our times of greatest life challenge and confusion put us smack dab in the middle of a crossroad. And there we stand: looking to the left; looking to the right; looking back from where we have come; and looking ahead at the life stretching out before us…

For a moment, imagine what it would be like to feel freedom, total freedom to think and feel all that you are in truth. You radiate all you are without exception. Unconditional release in its simplest form is letting go of emotional attachment to what you want.

What all mystics through out history have known to be true is that a direct communication with God is possible. To communicate with God one has to know what God is. From Jesus we learn that God is spirit and that the father in heaven is perfect.

Making a conscious change or life decision is accessible to you at any given minute. As you read this article, relax, reflect, and choose to let go of the wheel that is controlling your life. Release your tight grip and focus your energy towards your breathing and the rise and fall of your chest. Use this time to resonate with your life dreams, hopes, and beliefs; remember you are here for a divine purpose. Whatever your purpose may be… there is reason. Your life is a gift, believe and trust in that purpose, not only for yourself, but for all others around you. There are many people lost in faith and searching for that same goal… peace of mind. What do you believe in? What is your purpose in this life? Do you still have faith or have you lost it? Are you living your life by grazing the surface or are you digging deeper?

There are always those who question the divinity of religious texts. Indeed, it is their right to do so. In the past too, whenever divine text was revealed, people always demanded a sign or a miracle from the prophets of their time to prove the divine origin of the text. Similarly, there have been, and are, people who question the divine origins of the Quran. Yet, unlike any other divine text, the Quran, itself, offers proof of its divine origin implicitly, as well as explicitly. Should we not follow its message, and should we continue to ignore it if we become convinced of its authenticity?

Experiencing Spiritual inebriation is the highest of all human experience – the touch of the Divine. Any believer of God is capable of enjoying such delight. The Presence of God, brought to the immediacy of the moment, made fathoms deep before us, makes life within our beings never more worthy. Living out of such an experience makes every other experience relevant, meaningful, and endurable.

Have you ever thought about the four types of ministry people do for the Lord? Maybe you never realized there are that number, perhaps believing there were more than that. What is important is not the number but where is your ministry within these four?

As a Catholic, I am embarrassed by the recent “coronation” of Cardinals in Rome. The appearance of all those red robed men in funny hats and little slippers certainly did not project the real picture of the church to which I belong. A church founded by a poor carpenter in Nazareth and whose purpose is to serve the poor and marginalized of the world is poorly represented by this garish display of royalty.

This is the season of healing! God is still in the business of healing the sick. He wants you to enjoy good health.

What do we picture when we think about peace? The opening to Isaiah 54 presents the image of space, in many ways congruent with concepts of peace the Israelites would have understood – a geographic peace. Humility is a much neglected virtue in the modern world; everyone wants to be a ‘winner’ and the implicit assumption is that nice people finish last, that understating yourself is a strategic mistake, and that humility, basically, is for wimps. Like the virtue of ‘meekness’ it is perceived as a negative virtue for those lacking what might be termed, colloquially, ‘bottle’. This, I think, is a serious mistake and arises from a fundamental misunderstanding of what humility is.
