This is an offshoot of a conversation that gave me time to think about religion and its aim. Right now, religion says that it is the way to salvation. The question then is, which religion should we really follow, and how would we know that it is correct?

After a thousand years of perfect government, God shows, that even if Jesus Christ ran the earth, and even with Jesus Christ in total control of government, people will not change. They will not be transformed radically. Environmentalists need to learn and know this. Yes, it is right to seek to improve the environment as much as man possibly can, but that will not change and transform man. Perfect government is not the answer.

Are Christians aware of this today? Do people know that those who are called and faithful and chosen by Jesus Christ and who are ‘born again’ will one day reign with Jesus Christ when He returns? It is an exciting future which awaits those who are in Christ Jesus, and that is why it is good to take time now to ensure that all is well with your life when He returns. Repent and believe and be baptised in water and receive the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. That helps a man lay the basic foundation on which everything else can be built. Within an ordinary light bulb there is a positive wire and a negative wire. Both are needed to give the light and the power to dispel the darkness.

There are people working for things today, seeking to build up certain things today, which our holy righteous God is going to remove and destroy. That is why Jesus calls us to go for the real treasure which will not perish – the treasure hidden in the field, which will not be eaten away be decay or inflation, nor rust, nor be stolen by thieves breaking in. Jesus Christ taught all that when He walked on this earth. When Jesus Christ comes again and conquers all evil, He will reign on the earth, and He will show what it can be like when He is in control of everything. All sin and evil influences are cleared out of the way. First, He clears away evil and wickedness, and then the Lord reigns, physically and visibly. He not only comes in a negative sense, to clear the site, but He comes in a positive way.
