Life and Day, Darkness and Death
Though a new day may bring in a new sunshine, no two days are identical. Every day begins at a different plane, a transcendental point, unlike the past day. As the sun burns itself to advanced age, and as people get older too, every upcoming day brings in a less bright sunshine in our lives. When our sun dies, total darkness shall overpower the earth. Out of the supernova, a new sun shall be born, and the cycle of existence continues for eternity.
Reverse Engineering From A Spiritual StandpointThe universe and everything in it is better engineered than anything any individual mind can make or create. Think specifically about one factor that is or can be better than any factor, such as visualization or mental television and video.
Looking for some tips on how to cultivate the habit of daily Bible reading? Here’s 5 surefire ways to increase your love for God and His Word.
Galatians 2 – Empowered for MinistryWe have the same opportunities, struggles, and doubts. We tend to listen to and believe those who disdain us over those who are better positioned and qualified to judge. We, like Paul, can be so overwhelmed by discouragement and fear.
Galatians 2 – Freedom In Christ JesusDEBATING THE PROS AND CONS of a life wedded to Christ – me or you, a microcosm of the Church – can seem pointless and fruitless in battle with an atheist. They cannot know the light of life that we have experienced, and God has made it so that we cannot explain what we have experienced. Convincing people takes more than words, yet words and actions – an observation of both – are at the start of Gospel belief when the door of the heart is ajar.
Abiding in the True Vine“Abiding doesn’t measure how much you know about your faith or your Bible. In abiding you seek, long for, thirst for, wait for, see, know, love, hear, and respond to… a person.
Is the above title statement Scriptural? Is it true that The Father and The Son accept this: “I do the best I can” arrangement? Are they happy to turn a blind eye whilst we do our best and fail miserably most of the time whilst endeavouring to OBEY THE LAW? Is that what being Born of God (Born Again) means? Where does Grace fit into this scenario and what a lot of questions?
Can Deep Sore Wounding Emotions Be Healed and Those Shadows From the Past Be Removed?Have we not seen so many cover ups in governments and commerce and banking and in so many other areas of life where relationships had broken down or where sin had such a grip and hold that it was if there was no way out? How many lives are marred and scarred by shame? Having been in the front line of serving people for well over forty years it has been my experience to have come across so many situations where people were marked by shame. One lady used to comb her hair well over her face in an attempt to hide the depth of shame which she experienced and she would never share with anyone the nature of that shame. If only that had been openly shared and acknowledged and confessed and dealt with she might have experienced a degree of joy and peace. When man disobeyed God, shame soiled his relationship with God.
Can I Possibly Be Set Free From the Various Spiritual and Emotional Hang Ups Which Seem to Dog Me?If there is one emotion which can ruin relationships it is fear. That may surprise you. Do we not meet so many people whose lives are ridden with fear or guilt or shame or embarrassment? When God created man, man was placed in a perfect environment. There was no sin, no sorrow, no sadness, no sickness, no pain, no suffering, no lying, no deceit, no manipulating, no jealousy, but things did not remain perfect for very long. It was so very good, for a season. No one would dare to say today that situations and circumstances are good. Fear had arrived. Fear can make us keep our distance, from God, and then from each other. Fear has some tragic consequences and can ruin a person’s hope and dreams and ambitions. We are dealing with profound spiritual truths here, and we must not hide from these nor run away from them as if they did not exist!
When Dealing With Life’s Most Serious Issues There Is No Room For Flippancy Or Superficiality! When Almighty God spoke to Zechariah about the birth of John the Baptist, God was serious. When God spoke to Mary regarding the coming of Jesus Christ into our world, He was serious. When God speaks, He is serious. Always! Not only was Jesus serious, but his disciples were serious. This is not an area for flippancy. When a man is dealing with eternity and eternal matters there is no room for flippancy or being superficial. When Jesus instructed Ananias to go and meet with Saul of Tarsus he carried out his task responsibly and seriously, and that is how the Saul, who was renamed Paul, lived the rest of his life. He was a serious man who dealt with the most serious of topics and areas and subjects. When God speaks He expects a serious response, so how might you react to that?
The Spiritual Dimension In the Mentoring RelationshipRecently I mentioned to a young man I’m in a mentoring relationship with that he was ‘larger than life’, and to give him credit, he was pondering what that actually meant. Later we ‘spoke’ over social media messaging, as he wanted to acknowledge that perhaps God was doing this work in him. This is what I said:
Who Needs Compassion Anyhow? As far back as history goes, only a handful can be accredited with living life from a place of deep compassion. Jesus Christ being at the top of the list and few if any ever achieved the level of Compassion that Christ exemplified.
