Going through life we learn from parents, teachers, lecturers, educators, coaches, trainers, workshop leaders, religious leaders, partners, and children. Spiritual seekers often learn from gurus. But who is your spiritual authority? Who tells you what’s right and what’s wrong? What to believe and from whom? When to apply what you have learnt and why?

The tragic death of Robin Williams shocked and demonstrated once again that fame and worldly success do not necessarily bring happiness. Without speculating or moralizing (we cannot know the inner workings of his soul), all we can do is to thank him for all that he gave us as a talented artist and to respectfully wish him well on his journey. Emotion in prayer moves mountains. Without emotional force, nothing at all happens. Well, I will tell you: My best experience with prayer is the most peaceful, powerful, emotionally satisfied feeling there is. My worst experience with prayer is saying words as directed. Let me explain further.

I have always known deep down that there is more to it than this. At a very young age, like most children, I was coerced into reality as others saw it, not as I knew it to be in the depths of my soul.

Jesus commanded us to watch and pray. Today many pray and are not watching; much like the early church who were all praying for Peter’s release but kept on praying and would not believe that their prayer had actually been answered and Peter is released. Rhoda told them Peter was released but they thought she was crazy and they all continued to pray for his release. Stop praying 4 things you should be doing, pray and believe GOD for the answer and go out there to do what you need to do knowing that GOD heard you. Doing miraculous works only demand that you believe the word of God and act on it when necessary. As you act on the word, you will experience breakthrough,in fact you have prayed enough, begin to act.

The greatest principle in Scripture in terms of life and justice could well be to put the Kingdom and God’s righteousness first. And that – as an eventual consequence – if we continue to put the Kingdom and God’s righteousness first – then every appropriate blessing will be added at the appropriate time, in the appropriate way. This principle is outlined in Matthew 6:33.

God never ceases working in all creation. By the Holy Spirit, God is active, everywhere; in us, through us, all around us. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we watch, we wait, we prepare, and we become constantly aware. “What is God’s Spirit saying in this?” It’s the only important thing.

“I call with all my heart; answer me, Lord, and I will obey your decrees.” So prays the psalmist in Psalm 119:145.

Is it not a tremendous truth to know, that God can use us, not in spite of our disqualifying infirmities, but because of them? Satisfaction and fulfilment are found in Jesus Christ and following Jesus Christ and seeking to remain a faithful loyal disciple of Jesus Christ. What is impossible with man is possible with Almighty God, so may I challenge you to ensure that you are walking with God in step with the Holy Spirit. When Paul went to preach in Corinth he had no grand illusions about the type of people who lived there. Over these past few weeks I have been studying the life of Jeremiah the prophet.
