What a thought as we face 2015! To know that we have God with us, through Jesus Christ and through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and to know that God will remain with us no matter what faces and confronts us in the days and weeks lying in front of us. If we forget this truth which is told us from the very beginning of Matthew then it is a travesty of the truth, and today this is what is hard to get across – that Jesus came to deal with sin! In a post modern world the one thing you are not supposed to do is say that anyone is wrong. John, in his Gospel, writes later, that Judas went out and it was dark. Now we have to explain that, because it has a much deeper meaning than simply describing the time of day! We are in a multicultural society, and that means we have to teach and explain as well as preach and proclaim.

We all have relationships of some form. We connect, we grow, we shrink and we learn. All relationships bring us something we need. Our vibration brings us the right soul relationship that we need at the right time in our life. What is your vibration bringing you? There is an easy way to see this. For everyone is your mirror. Everyone that you come across is speaking your language in energy.

Greed stems from need. Need connects to desperation. Desperation lacks from love. All connect into each other. You may not think you are greedy, but how much are you taking from others that you don’t need to be taking? You have it all within you. So why aren’t you building upon that and increasing your own inner wealth? When you take and take and take, it is because you are always longing for more outside of you. You have this idea and belief that you don’t have enough.

How can you tell when you receive a message that comes from intuition or mind chatter, i.e. – Ego? Intuition has a different vibration. It supports you. And it speaks the truth. And it wants to lead you in the right direction – even if it is something that you don’t want to hear. Mind chatter which can be also known as Ego. It speaks of fear. Its job is to keep you stuck. It wants you not to trust. The easiest way to recognise it is when it first comes to you. When it first comes to your mind, it is an instant thought, vision and feeling.

When you think of communication, speaking up and voice comes to mind. Communication and expression is much more than that. There is communication through the arts such as music, art, drama, writing etc. Communication and expression is also about feeling. It is not just about expressing yourself through words and to other people. Expression begins within, and with you. Feeling and being real about what you feel, want and become are big pieces of expression. When you deny what you feel, you block the flow of expression. You find it difficult to communicate. You feel fear in voicing your truth.

Much of 2014 was an uphill battle for most. Many things you all thought would come to fruition, did not. Yet that was the set up for the fabulous year that is coming for you. The year that is about to end of 2014, was about ending many cycles and phases of your life. Letting go of those stubborn emotions you wanted to hang onto. And if you haven’t let them go, they will still be purging for you in the first half of the New Year to come.

Life is a battlefield of survival for some. A fight to the death. If you have heard of the movie, The Hunger Games, then maybe you can relate it to your life. In the movie, a government wants to put a stop to the uprising of communities. Removing freedom, voice and choice. Much like many ego/fear driven people who feel threatened by those that live in their heart space. For those who live in ego, need to keep others down. A selection of 12 contestants are randomly drawn and put into a battlefield to fight amongst each other and the “winner” is the last one standing. Funnily enough, the last ones standing are the ones who pull away from the conflict of the games. The ones who do not want to participate in ego, fear or hate. In real life, we are all fighting in our own Hunger Games.

This is a prayer I have constructed for use during my early morning devotional time. Being that the Sermon on the Mount was Jesus’ main teaching to the Twelve, it’s crucial to us, also.

I have had the privilege being father to 3 sons and a daughter. I have worked with young people in various capacities since 1972 including teaching for 18 years. In 1993, I wrote the only leadership-training program especially for young people, 7 – 21 years of age, available in the US at the time.

It is so easy to get caught up in what is going on around us and it often seems as if God is not there when we need Him most. However, it’s through these trials that we face that God uses for our good.
