It’s this year at Christmas time, I wanted to reflect on the great act of humbleness by the mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The part that Mary played in the Christmas story was not only humiliating for her, but it was most of all humbling even at the risk of being put to death. As Christians today, can we be humbled by the gift that God placed in us or we can feel humiliated by others who think we are “Holier than Thou, Bible Thumping Jesus Freaks” Mary, the mother of Jesus faced death by stoning, but her ultimate humbleness overcame her fear of humiliation. This was the most humble of beginnings for a Christ child in which to arrive.
