Is our church a “successful” church? That is a good question for every congregation to ask. Of course we also want to ask what do we mean by “successful” and in whose eyes are we successful?

It is not just a miracle that we are so close to you Lord, for a miracle is an impossibility made possible. It is infinitely more than a miracle that you have permeated our home today in your presence, is a divine miracle covered in your grace, your grace which alone could have accomplished such a feat.

Wholeness, a term synonymous with integrity or holiness, is part of the journey of Christian life. Holiness, never totally achieved in this life, is a quality the gospel asks us to strive for.

This is why Christ died for sins once for all, a just man for the sake of the unjust: so that he could lead you to God Throughout Old Testament history, God made covenants with his people that they would be his people and he would be their God. These covenants revolved around Israel’s obedience and God’s faithfulness and protection over them. Again and again, however, the people turned away from God and gave themselves to idolatry.

Sunday school is important. Learn what you can do to make it more enjoyable.

What is truth? Based on the limited wisdom of mankind, Webster has defined “truth” as “a judgment, proposition, statement, or idea that accords with fact or reality and is logically or intuitively necessary.” However, as each person has their own perception of reality, countless definitions of truth exist. Truth was what Pontius Pilate was searching for from Jesus prior to His crucifixion. Pilate asked Jesus, “Are You a king then?” Jesus said, “Thou sayest that I am king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice. (John 18:37)” Jesus clearly explains to Pilate that He came into the world to testify to the truth.

These centres get clogged with negative energy because of daily stress, psychic attack from people, base emotions and we feel low and the accompanying emotions that go with it. When these centres are kept clean because a person cleans out the bad energy then we feel high and the accompanying emotions are joyous too! There was a time long ago that individuals charted their own path. We were guided by our own intuition and it was sufficient for making decisions. As society has grown more complex we have become more and more dependent on mass media to tell us how we should interpret our world. We have become dependent on “experts”, specialist, consultants and therapist to tell us when we are ok or not. We allow larger organizations to dictate to us what our beliefs should be on so many areas of our life. It’s as if we don’t have an identity unless we identify with a group.

Do you ever ponder over certain things in your life and wonder why you can’t have a smooth ride. Why should there be hitches at every phase of life? Why do I have battles that make me question the essence of my existence? I have loads of things about life I do not like. However, I have gotten to a stage in my walk with God that I believe there is no place to go from him even when I may not fully understand the following:

Churches and private businesses have much in common, both need people to exist. Can churches benefit from running their churches like businesses? One thing is for sure, if a private business ran their business like a church, they would not survive. The church is not a good business model.

What is so important about December 2012? For those who may have been unaware of all the hype about the year 2012 the world as we know it will supposedly come to an end. This belief is based on the assumption the Mayan calendar ends on December 20, 2012.
