From a historical perspective, I suppose we would regard as the most notorious of criminals – the greatest sinner of them all – to be someone like Hitler or Stalin from modern-day history or Nero from ancient Roman history. It may then come as a shock to realize that the most notorious criminal as well as the greatest sinner of all time was actually Jesus of Nazareth. Sound appalling?

Recent surveys have revealed that 75% of Americans are unhappy in their present jobs. One of the most common reasons for this dissatisfaction is that many people feel they are not making a difference with their lives. Sales of Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life are currently around 25 million copies sold, an indication of how many people are asking questions about how they can make their lives count and have deeper meaning.

Two things stand out in this brief exchange. The first is that while many people were crowding around Jesus, she alone was changed. Certainly religion is popular in America, but for many people their faith is only a superficial part of their life with no real impact on their day to day living.

The Fall Equinox was last week and I decided to clear my garden of the debris that remained as a shadow of the bounty produced during the growing season. Aside from the herbs and a random pepper, everything else is gone. It is a bittersweet moment to stand in front of the plants you have grown and watch them die as the winter prepares to set in.

What is true Strength? True Strength lies in being who you are. You are so much more powerful than you know.

Keep in mind that relationship villains and windows of opportunity can be anywhere-which is why we have to open our eyes and watch for patterns and life scripts. Let me tell you about the strangest place (so far!) that I’ve discovered a window of opportunity waiting for me-in the grocery store!

We are spiritual beings living in physical bodies trying to navigate our way through the worlds of duality to reach our true home; the world of true spirit the soul plane. One of the most difficult challenges we face on our journey is known as cause and effect.

Without the interconnectivity to our true and authentic self and a true knowledge of who we are and why we are here, we can literally lose our soul on this plane of existence. We can trap ourselves in patterns of self-destruction or trap our lives in cycles of reincarnation to this very plane.

I have always been told when you die in this human body, you immediately go to heaven and into the Lord’s waiting arms or into His presence. This is a commonly used consolation statement for those who are grieving over the loss of a loved one. It is a nice thought, but is it true?

When we learn that the only things we can control in this life are our choices and our attitudes–not the outcomes, not the consequences, not other people or their reactions, then we are FREE to completely trust God for our answers, our resolutions to problems, and our futures. And if we trust that because of our prayers, God is actively working to direct our lives towards our best outcome, then it becomes much easier to “trust the process” and view the steps along the way as important and necessary, even if we don’t yet understand them or even like or agree with them!

Have you ever heard people pray, “Lord, be with me,” or “Lord, just be with Aunt Sally?” What does it really mean for the Lord to “be with” someone?

Karma is a Universal law based on action and reaction-kind of a “reap what you sow” type of law. If we take an action against another person or nature, we will pay the piper for it during this incarnation or during a future lifetime.
